Curriculum

The program comprises twelve modules, a two-week summer intensive, and a 100-hour ministry practicum, completed over one year. Each module examines a missional foundation of faith and ministry and relates it to the practice of ministry in the local church.

12 Modules

Modules

  1. Module 1

Foundations of the Mission of God

This module introduces the biblical, theological, and historical foundations of mission. Young leaders trace the movement from the Missio Dei to the mission of the church, survey how mission has been understood across Christian history, and consider the shape of faithful witness in the Middle East today.

  2. Module 2

    Missional Thought Leadership

This module presents a model of leadership that begins with God’s activity rather than with institutional preservation. Young leaders study a four-stage pattern: discerning what God is doing, articulating it clearly, mobilizing God’s people, and multiplying leaders who will do the same. The model is contrasted with institutional leadership oriented toward programs, numbers, and expansion.

  3. Module 3

    Strategic Thinking

This module develops the capacity to think strategically about ministry. Young leaders learn to analyze their context, discern priorities, set clear direction, and align people and resources with God’s purposes, so that ministry becomes intentional, sustainable, and responsive to change.

  4. Module 4

    Theory of Change

This module examines how lasting transformation occurs in a community and how it may be planned for. Young leaders learn to trace a logical pathway from a clearly defined need, through stated assumptions and planned activities, to outputs, outcomes, and transformation, and to test each link in that pathway.

  5. Module 5

    Outcome-Based Ministry

This module equips young leaders to design ministry around the change it seeks rather than the activity it produces. Young leaders learn to distinguish inputs, activities, outputs, and outcomes; to define short-, medium-, and long-term outcomes; and to evaluate ministry with rigor and honesty.

  6. Module 6

Reading the Bible Through a Missional Lens

This module reads Scripture as the unfolding story of God’s mission, from creation to new creation. Young leaders explore a missional hermeneutic and consider how the biblical metanarrative shapes the identity and vocation of God’s people.

  7. Module 7

    Scripture, Theology, and Practice

This module examines the relationship between Scripture, theological reflection, and ministry practice. Young leaders engage Scripture as authoritative, narrative, and formative text, and develop a disciplined method for moving between the biblical text, theology, and the realities of ministry.

  8. Module 8

AI for Kingdom Impact: Faithful Innovation in Mission

This module examines the responsible use of artificial intelligence (AI) in ministry and mission. Young leaders consider the opportunities and ethical questions that AI raises for the church, and learn practical ways to use digital tools for research, communication, discipleship, and outreach, while keeping discernment, people, and relationships at the center.

  9. Module 9

    Discipleship and Spiritual Formation

This module approaches discipleship as a whole-life apprenticeship to Jesus. It explores the practices through which the Spirit forms Christlike character and the ways in which disciples are made and multiplied through intergenerational relationships (2 Timothy 2:2).

  10. Module 10

    Gospel, Culture, and Context

This module explores how the Gospel may be communicated and embodied faithfully in a particular context. Young leaders learn to interpret their cultural setting, with particular attention to Lebanon and the wider MENA region, and to contextualize ministry without compromising the integrity of the message.

  11. Module 11

    Holistic Mission and Community Engagement

This module considers the Gospel as both proclaimed and demonstrated (Luke 4:18–19). Young leaders learn to listen to a community, to recognize its assets as well as its needs, to build relationships of trust, and to serve in ways that preserve dignity and contribute to lasting change.

  12. Module 12

Mission in Contexts of Crisis and Displacement

This module examines the church’s witness amid conflict, economic collapse, and displacement, realities that shape Lebanon and the wider MENA region. Young leaders explore a theology of suffering and hope, the principles of trauma-informed care, and practical ways for congregations to accompany displaced and vulnerable people with compassion and dignity.

Alongside the Modules

Summer Intensive and Ministry Practicum

Two-Week Summer Intensive

Following orientation, a two-week summer intensive brings the young leaders together for concentrated teaching, worship, and fellowship. These two weeks lay the foundations for the year and build the community of practice that sustains them throughout the program.

Ministry Practicum

Alongside the twelve modules, each young leader completes 100 hours of ministry in their local church and community over the course of the year. The practicum provides the context in which learning is put into practice: young leaders apply what they are studying, reflect critically on their experience, and share that reflection with others.
